Oregon's oldest grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a sustainable future through local efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Meetup group offers networking opportunities for recycling lovers

Do you want to talk about recycling, reuse, composting, sustainability or other random topics with other like minded people?

There is a meetup group called “Portland Recycling and Sustainability Lovers” that you might want to check out.
You can sign up for free to learn about upcoming happy hours, coffee get-togethers, events and workshops related to environmental topics (similar to what we discuss in our newsletters).

The next scheduled events are:
  • Feb 27th: NW Portland
  • Mar 22nd: SE Portland
  • Mar 27th: Gresham

The host of the meetup is RA board president Brion Hurley, but it is not an official Recycling Advocates program. Meet new people, learn about the latest news, or just relax after a hard day at work!

From the meetup group page:

“This is a group for anyone interested in the environment, sustainability, recycling, entrepreneurship, and networking. Environmental professionals, advocates, and tree-huggers are welcome! Let’s get together and talk about ways we can create solutions to our environmental challenges. Whether you have a new idea you would like to share, would like to learn about more ways to get involved, or are interested in advocacy, this group aims to bring like-minded environmentalists together for coffee or a beer, at least once per month.”
